When all the stores are closed, ideally it would be a good time to stay and home and hang around with family. What I find like a nice thing to do is watch a movie and play board games. However, whether you are alone or with friends or family, movies are great!
MOVIES
Sometimes when the weather is crappy, you don't feel like doing anything other than sitting at home and watching a movie. Here are some holiday movies I would recommend.

BOXING DAY SHOPPING PLANNING
Besides movies, what I like to do is to plan out my action plan (haha I treat boxing day like it's a mission) and do all my research about where to go shopping and what is on sale. Usually there are some good deals, that is only available during boxing day.
This would be a great time to buy your holiday decor for next year, usually most holiday things are like 60% off, including chocolates! In the electronics section, flatscreen tvs are usually on sale and it is definately the time to buy memory chips like SD Cards.
Most stores are open early on boxing day, so it is good to get your planning done. Most people will go line up really early, but I don't think that is necessary because if you go later to stores like Bestbuy, things will be there. That is, things that aren't limited in quantity.
ONLINE
Sales usually start on Christmas Eve, here are some websites to start you boxing day shopping
