Frozen Green Tea with a funny after taste (Tim Horton's Davie Street Review)

It's scorching hot (well more like 28 degrees, but for Vancouverites, that's pretty hot), and I was downtown near St. Pauls' Hospital doing a research study. I wanted some caffine in my system because I was feeling tired (did two Grouse Grinds this morning).
This Tim Horton's Location was famous for an incident that happened a while ago when someone smashed the windows, so I decided to check it out. The broken window was fixed and the Timmy's looked in any other Timmy's. There were a fair amount of chairs for people to sit at, and they had a freezer with Cold Stone's Ice Cream.
I was at the counter and I noticed on the overhead menu that there was a new Frozen Macha/ Green Tea and that caught my attention. I was afraid of it being over sugary (because many of these frozen drinks usually have way too much sugar added to them), so I asked if the Green Tea had sugar added. The lady at the counter sort of smiled (abit awkwardly) and said it all comes as a syrup. I thought to myself, how bad can Green Tea be?
When I got my frozen Green Tea, the sight of it immediately sort of raised a red flag. The colour was a bit on the alien light green colour and it didn't seem very appetizing. Part of it was when I saw the bubbles on top, it reminded me of when I was cleaning my fish tank at home that had a lot of algae on it... For Frozen Green Tea to have bubbles made it physically sketchy to look at.
Since I paid $2 for it, I decided to not judge a book by its cover and take a sip. I have never tasted anything like this before. It was not sweet, but somewhat bitter. It wasn't the Macha kind of bitter (if you know what I mean with regards to how bitter pure Macha can be). It was a type of bitter that had a bit of a fruity taste to it. At the same time, it sort of tasted like the drink was trying to be sweet, but there was just not enough sugar to make it taste sweet. Mind you, I had a free Slurpee at 7-11 so my taste buds could have been a bit biased when it comes to sweetness. That said, It wasn't too good to be honest, and there was a funny after taste too.
Afterwards when I got home, I decided to check the nutrition facts on the medium Frozen Macha and at a whopping 200 calories and 49 grams of sugar, it is definitely something that I will avoid in the future. Not only because it tastes funny, but because it's packed with tons of sugar.

Hot like a sauna (Denny's on Davie)

Once you've been to a Denny's, you can almost say that you've been to all of them. However, depending on how each location is run, every Denny's can be different.
It was Canada Day and a group of friends and I were walking around town to find a place to watch the USA vs Belgium game. At first we were at Fountain Head across the street, but because one of my friends forgot her ID, we were not able to go in. After, walking around for a bit, we decided to go for Denny's. Denny's had a menu where it included drinks (for the people that didn't want to eat) and food (for those who wanted to eat. In addition, they also had a TV that had the game on.
Walking in, I noticed the place was abit swampy feeling. The waitress already have the menu in her hands and was taking us to our table, so we decided to stay. After sitting down, I was curious if the air conditioning was broken, so I asked the waitress. She informed me that the reason that all of the windows and doors are open was because the air ventilation system was broken. On a day that is about 25 degrees+ outside, the restaurant felt swampy.
Opening the menu, everything was what you would expect on a Denny's menu. The Grandslams, all day breakfast and burgers. I had my eye on the avocado burger (because avocados are really high in nutrients). The burger was about $12. Then I took a look at the "Make your own burger column", and I realized that it was cheaper to make my own burger.
The burger cost $9.79 to make your own burger and you had the choice of different meats/patties and then toppings. With the avocado added with that burger, it is only $1 more, meaning that making your own avocado burger is cheaper than getting the avocado burger.
When we were ready to order, the waiter who came to take our order took us by surprise. When he asked my friends whether or not they are eating food, my friends replied to him that they are only getting drinks. He made this expression that was sort of a fit, and grabbed the forks and knives from the table. It was honestly a bit rude.
After waiting for a good few 15 minutes, the waiter brought us our food. The burger portion was pretty big (I had a hard time fitting it in my mouth), and the portion of fries was very generous as well. The fries tasted pretty fresh and the chicken burger was really good. It was a bit on the tall side, so I had to squish it down really hard. I'm not sure if it's because I have a small mouth, but after squishing it, it was still too big. At the end I decided to just take out the vegetables and eat it separately.  Finally, I was able to eat the whole thing. The other benefit to custom making the burger is that you can choose real cheese instead of the processed cheese that they put inside the burger.
Overall, I would probably not visit this Denny's again. There are plenty of good places to eat around here, the food is pretty satisfactory, however the environment and service could be improved.

Fresh Donuts!!! (Honey's Deep Cove Review)

A few years ago I came to Deep Cove to go canoeing, and I came to this place. At the time, I was not expecting anything (being located in a tourist attraction and all) expect high prices and average food. My expectation was proven wrong when I walked into the store. I got a ham and cheese scone and the moment I took a bite into it, I fell in love with it.
Both craving the ham and cheese scone and the hiking trails near Deep Cove, I decided to come back here with my friend today. This coffee shop and bakery is authentic and vintage as its been around for quite a while. Just the feeling of it, the decor and the fact that it's located in a small town setting makes this Coffee Shop/ Bakery really likable.
We were a bit disappointed today because after hiking, they were sold out of the ham and cheese scone. To be fair, it was World Cup day and tons of people are here watching and cheering on their own teams. The line up to get in was super long and the place was crowded. They had a huge screen TV placed outside and there was a huge group of people all cheering for their own teams. Actually to be honest, I am not sure if everyone had their own team. It seemed like everyone cheered for Costa Rica and when Costa Rica scored a goal, the crowd went wild. For the most part, I think some people who supported the other teams were too scared to cheer for their own teams so instead everyone just cheered for Costa Rica. I guess the phrase "if you can't beat them, join them".
When it comes to the actual baked goods, their doughnuts were very special. Unlike huge fast-food doughnut chains, Honey's actually made their own doughnuts and if you go at the right time, the doughnuts would be still warm. The texture of the doughnut is very soft on the inside and not overly greasy or sweet. I would really recommend the doughnut.
Also, as I mentioned earlier, the scones that they have are pretty good. The scone I got today was a fruit scone. I'll admit, the fruit scone was sweet and the layer of sugar and icing on it was unnecessary. That said, personally, I try to avoid sweet foods because the fat tends to go to places where you do not want them to go. Because of that, I am not too big of a fan for the sweet scone.
However, one thing I must mention is when it comes to service, this place can be lacking. While I was waiting in line, something, like a piece of plastic from the straw of my juice box fell on the floor. As I was bending over to pick it up, one of their staff members who was sitting grunted and picked it up and handed it to me. To be fair, it was my fault for accidentally dropping the thing, but the attitude was not necessary. Also there is a strict enforcement of no outside food.
Overall, the baked good of this place is pretty special and the setting is special. The service could be a bit better, but I would definitely visit this place again because of the scone :)

Chicken Soup of Everything Asian (Wok Box Queensborough Landing Review)

Located at Queensborough landing, Wok Box is probably one of the only places around that mixes a bunch of Asian cuisine together. Passing by here numerous times on trips to Wal-mart, I never had the chance to try them out, so after class one day, my friend and I decided to give them a try.
From the outside, you can tell that it's a Chinese place. However, that wasn't the case when I walked in. The decor sort of has a mix of Asianness. Especially the murals of Buddha on the wall, it sort of give a sense of Thai yet it's not exactly Thai. I think a large part using buddha as decor sort of shows the Asian stereotype.
After taking a minute to look at the decor and digesting the interesting yet museum like aura of the restaurant, I turned to look at the menu. I was very surprised by the menu because not only did they offer Chinese food, they had Indian food (Butter Chicken) too. I can tell that the food here is very westernized. Their selection from each culture in Asia is very limited and they seem to only feature dishes that are common. Dishes such as Kung Pao Chicken and Indian Butter Chicken to name a few.
What was special was that for takeout orders, the containers that are used are the paper ones that you see in the US. I never seen the takeout containers used here before, so that was pretty special. Everything comes in two sizes, there is the lunch size and the dinner size. Actually, the After debating with myself for a while, I decided to get a Kung Pao Chicken (the noodle version). My friend decided to get the Indian Butter Chicken.
We waited for about 15 minutes before we got our order. What I really like about this place is that the food is freshly made and not like food courts where the food is already made up and sitting on the counter and waiting for the customer to come. I was very fascinated with the take out boxes, so the cashier asked if I wanted my order in a take out box to which I said yes.
When the order came, I was pleased with the portion of the food. It was a fair portion compared to the amount that I paid. It was about $10 for the meal, and there is an option to make it a combo for $3.99 more. The combo includes either two spring rolls or a samosa with a fountain drink.
The Kung Pao chicken tasted pretty fair, however, some of the vegetables such as the sprouted beans tasted raw. I am not sure if they are meant to be raw, but it definitely is something I never had before. The downside with the take out containers is that it is hard to get food out. Also, there is quite abit of sauce with the Kung Pao chicken, when I put in the fork to get out the noodle, the plastic fork bent... Overall the taste was pretty average.
In summary, the downside with Wok Box is that they do not have a specialization in a specific culture of Asian cuisine. Because of that, the taste wasn't too outstanding, but the price is pretty fair/average.

nice lean grilled chicken for $1.79/100grams (Greenday Salad Bar)

During lunch time, the streets of Downtown Vancouver is usually bustling with people (usually people who are at work) in their business attire trying to find food. I was also doing some work and it was lunch time and my friend wanted to meet up. She suggested going to this salad bar. Before coming in, I noticed that Fujiya next door was packed with people trying to get their sushi. Because it was so busy next door, this salad place was easy to miss as it was located deeper within this building complex.
The thing I love about salad bars, like this one is that you can walk in and choose whatever you like in whatever amount you like and pay for just the total weight (they call it gross weight I think... But it's abit weird to call the total weight of food gross, unless of course, the food itself is gross). Also, I think salad bars are rather better than going to a fast food places at the food court where you pay for a set amount of food and feel bad about not finishing it all.
This salad bar contains over a few dozen varieties of vegetable dishes. All of these dishes looked relatively not greasy. Also, I think this salad bar is Korean owned because I noticed some of the items do have an Asian twist to it. In addition, when you walk into this salad bar, you immediately smell the aroma of freshly baked bread.
The way this salad bar is laid out is that the food is located around the corners while the middle of the store has a long table for people to sit. I would not recommend eating in here because the table looks abit uncomfortable to look at. Not to mention that with traffic of people going around getting food, I'd imagine it would feel abit pressuring for you to finish your food.
Because I already have food with me, but I didn't want to make my friend feel bad, I decided to get something small. For $1.79 for 100grams I would say the price is decent. That said, it depends what you get. If you got something like potato wedges only, $1.79 for 100 grams is pretty expensive compared to getting 9 pieces of potato wedges at 7-11 which is roughly 100 grams for only 99 cents. I'm saying this because I got some potato wedges and grilled chicken thinking one piece or two shouldn't be that expensive.    The grilled chicken I got was pretty good. The seasoning was not too overwhelming, yet it wasn't too bland. In addition, what I liked most about the chicken was that it was relatively lean and not as fatty as some of the chicken I've had. With regards to the potato wedges, besides the fact that it was slightly over cooked, it tasted pretty decent.
Overall, I would say this place is definitely tailored towards business folk who wants something like a quick lunch, yet want variety in their meals. The quality is pretty decent and it's definitely a good consideration if you are in the area and is looking for lunch.

Substitute your hash brown for any baked goods for free! (Tim Horton's No. 3 Road)

Across the street from Aberdeen center and Canada Line Station (Aberdeen), this Tim Horton's is in a very convenient location. This Tim Hortons is relatively new, yet from the outside it looks slight vintage and old because of it's beige colour. They do have a drive thru lane that was nestled within the end of the parking lot.
What was strange was that this Tim Hortons was in the middle of a concentration of shops that featured Asian cuisine. In a way, it sort of stood out.
It was pouring rain when my friend and I arrived and surprisingly on a weekday, it was really busy we almost couldn't find a parking spot. Walking into the restaurant, you can tell that the restaurant was relatively new. The ordering counter was big and they had an assortment of baked goods behind the counter. It was abit different that the traditional Timmy Ho's where you have the baked goods at the front enclosed in a glass case.
I already had breakfast, so I just wanted something light because I was going to go airplane watching (You can check out my aviation blog under the "YVR Spotter" heading). They said on the menu that the Turkey Sausage English Muffin was less than 350 calories. I decided to give that a try. I also wanted to get a cup of coffee and knowing that with a coffee and a breakfast sandwich, I could get a discount if I got a combo. The downside about their combos is that the combos come with hash browns (which contains a lot of sodium and carbs) and it wasn't able to be substituted for anything else (or so I thought).
It was then I thought, maybe I should asked if I can substitute the hash brown for anything else and to my surprise, I could! So then I asked:  "What is the baked goods with the least amount of fat?". Ans: "maybe you can try a muffin". At that instant I laughed really hard. The muffins probably have more calories than the entire combo plus the breakfast sandwich. The cashier laughed too because we both knew that she was telling the truth because compared to the donuts, the unfortunate thing is that the muffins (which is like 450 calories each) is probably less fatty.
In the end I settled for a tea biscuit (which I saved for later). In total, I spent about $5.60 on the entire meal, which I say is a pretty good deal. I would definitely come back again if I was in the area).

$2 Egg/Breakfast Burritos (Runway Grill/ Seatac Airport)

After arriving at Seatac airport, I decided to stay here over night because I wanted to take some pictures of airplanes (huge aviation nerd here) and there is quite abit of traffic at Seatac. (I will upload all of the pictures soon). Walking around for about 5 hours and taking hundreds of photos of airplanes, I got hungry and I started to hunt for food to eat.
What was weird was it seems like during breakfast time, most stores are selling Continental Breakfasts. Even the Chinese place at the food court was selling the American scrambled eggs and sausages rather than Chinese style breakfasts.
I ended up at the satellite building and was in awe when I was looking at an Hawaiian Airbus 330. I wanted to find something to eat that was near here. I didn't want coffee because I was saving up for coffee in Seattle. I found this place called "the Runway Grill" that had something relatively inexpensive. They had menu options for only $2 and I decided to get the egg burrito.
The portions I would say is fair, but it is a bit on the small side. The only downside that I didn't like about the burritos was that they were slightly greasy. Also, If you ever ask them for a cup of water, be careful that the water might be abit sweeter than you would expect. I think the filter in their drink machine is funky so when they pressed the "Water" button, traces of random soft drinks must have gotten mixed in with it.

Sandwiches and Eye Candy (TGI Friday's Dallas/Fort Worth Airport Review)

TGI Friday's After walking around for a while at DFW in terminal E. My group of friends and I realized that we had still a few hours before our plane was due to depart for Phoenix. Everyone was hungry so we decided to grab a bite to eat. When it comes restaurants, there weren't many that sounded appealing except TGI Fridays.
Looking at their menu, they had more options that is suitable for a group with people of different palates. There was a slight wait before we were called in to be seated. I must say the downside about this TGI's is that I don't think it was meant to accommodate a big group of people (like 6 people). Our group ended up having to sit separately.
The thing I love about this restaurant is that you get a good view of the run way, and multiple times I saw a few of the new American 777 taking off. It was absolutely stunning. Besides the windows, the decor inside the restaurant was very retro/vintage feeling. There were a lot of memorabilia from different eras, not to mention (this is kind of random) but the servers here are all so fit looking and attractive ;).
I flipped through the menu and I noticed most things here are fried and fatty like burgers and fries. I found a chicken sandwich that came with a salad as a side. I had a hard time pronouncing the name of the sandwich because it was in Italian I believe.
Taking the first bite into the sandwich I fell in love with it. The bread with the sunflower seeds along with the chicken was very good. It was full of flavour. Together with the salad (which has a generous portion of cheese with it by the way), this sandwich was full of awesomeness. To top it off, the price was only around $10, which I found was very reasonable.
This is going to be the last place we are going to stop by before we head up to the Pacific Northwest. I must say, I really enjoyed my time in Texas. People I've met were so friendly and polite, not to mention the weather was just magnificent.

Mushroom Burrito? Yup, you heard it right. (Jason's Deli/ Fort Worth)

During our competition at the Thunderbird flying fields, the event organizers recognized that the competition teams would not have time to get food, so they got catering done for everyone. This was about 200-300 people worth of food. What they got were these lunch boxes from Jason's Deli (Sorry, I do not know the exact location that they got it from, but I assumed it's this one because it's relatively close to the flying field).
What I really liked about Jason's Deli was that the lunch was all neatly packed inside a box. For all of the lunch boxes, they came with a bag of chips, a piece of pickle, a chocolate chip cookie and a sandwich. I got the vegetarian option because I wanted a something that was healthier. It's really funny because the vegetarian option came with baked chips instead of the regular chips, while the other meat options had the deep fried chips. It seems like whoever makes these meals also assume that vegetarians are also health nuts. There is nothing wrong with it, I actually like the assumption, but I just find it funny.
When it comes to the sandwich, for the vegetarian option, I was surprised when I opened it and found a mushroom burrito. I never had raw mushrooms before, let alone seeing it in a burrito. When I took the first bite, I immediately fell in love with it. The feta cheese and the spinach really brings out the flavour inside the burrito and it was really good. The funny thing was that the event organizers bought extra portions of the food and they gave them to our team because no on wanted them. While everyone took the cookies (which by the way was amazing) and chips, I took the burritos. Even though I felt a bit fat after eating 3 or 4 burritos, but it was fantastic. If anyone is looking for catering, I highly recommend this place.

Americanized Mexican Cuisine (Chili's Burleson Review)/ (Texas Trip Part 5)

It was late at night (around 10:00) and my team and I just finished our day at Thunderbird flying field for our competition. We were hungry, and wanted some food (that wasn't fast food). We had Denny's the night before so tonight Denny's was off our list. As we were driving, we came across Chili's.
From the outside, Chili's appears to be like a regular American diner. However, when we walked in, the whole diner feel of the exterior went away. The inside had sort of a retro feel to it with it's synthetic leather couches. It was very close to closing time, so once we were seated the waitress
reminded us that the restaurant was about to close and we only had 10 minutes to put our order in.
Although this restaurant's main feature was Mexican cuisine, I find that many, if not all of the menu items were all somewhat Americanized versions of Mexican food.
We were all starving by the time we got into the restaurant, and we were short on time. I quickly searched through the menu to find what to eat. I tried to stay away from the burgers and fries section, and at the end, I found a section for the health nuts. Well it wasn't called the health nut section but it contained healthy options (that was under certain calories and had only a certain percentage of fat).
Besides meals, they had a wide variety of sides like side order of rice or steamed broccoli for only around $2. Even though the sides sounds tempting, I decided to get a meal. In the end I settled for the Grilled Tilapia.
When it arrived, it was served on a long plate, and the presentation of it was pretty decent. The broccoli was pretty average tasting. It wasn't bad but it wasn't anything special. The rice and Tilapia was on the spicy side, not to mention that the Tilapia tasted like it's been in the freezer. That said, the sauce on the Tilapia masked abit of the taste of the Tilapia.  I would say this Grilled Tilapia was average tasting. It wasn't anything too special, but it wasn't bad either. When you are surrounded by burgers and French fries, this Grilled Tilapia is more nutritious and abit healthier than the whole deep fried options.
When it comes to pricing however, I found that the Grilled Tilapia meal (which came in at about $13) was abit on the expensive side. The reason that I found it expensive was that the size of the meal was not that big. The sides like rice and broccoli can also be obtained for $2 each. This means that the Tilapia costs $9, ($13-$4 (for the two sides)), it was abit on the expensive side. Other than the price, I would say the service was pretty decent but abit on the slow side (I understand though, because they are near closing and everyone is probably drained from working). Also, this restuarant is pretty family friendly. They have free crayons and activity papers for kids, in fact, they gave away free crayons for kids and they gave me some too haha.

Talent Spread too thin (Denny's Burleson Review)/ (Adventure in Texas Part 3)

It was late at night (like 11PM) when we finally arrived at our hotel. We haven't ate in a few hours and everyone was starving. We all knew that because we are going to be busy with our competition, we wouldn't have time to eat something properly (and fast food would probably be the source of food for the next few days) so we figured, Denny's is probably better than a better bet for this meal.
From the outside, this Denny's location is just like any other Denny's location. The only thing that I was not really used to was the fact that the surroundings were pretty empty besides a gas station, the highway and a few drive throughs. I'm used to seeing Denny's in the city, but I must say I like this Denny's in the country side.
When we walked in, the waiter greeted us. It seems like the waiter and the cook were the only ones working and the waiter was very nice and polite. I feel bad for him because he looked like he hasn't gotten a good night's sleep in a while. He politely notified us that because there was only one cook, the orders may take a while.
After being seated down, I started to look through the menu. The menu itself felt very sugary and sticky. It was slightly gross flipping through them, but I did anyway because there was not alternatives.
I wanted something healthier, something that wasn't fried. At the end I settled for the chicken lifestyle burger because it was grilled. In addition, instead of fries, I got seasonal veggies with my burger. This option was different than in Canada because I recall, in Canada, we don't have as many options as they have here in Texas.
All my friends ordered burgers as well, and some even ordered nachos. When the orders came, I was pretty satisfied with the portions. For my own order however, it fel abit weird having just the burger without anything else. The seasonal veggies/ sides came awhile after the burger. The portion of the seasonal veggies was abit small (hah, what happened to "everything's bigger in Texas"? Haha).
The burger itself tasted satisfactory, however, more care could have been put into it's preparation such as perhaps heating the bun. I don't blame the cook though, because she was all by herself. Managing a few dozen orders is very hard by herself, especially when it's late at night.
I think it might have been a more economical choice to go to Wendy's or another fast food place. That said, after I finished my burger and sides, I must admit, I was still hungry. Before heading back to the hotel, I did a pitstop at 7-11 to grab some trail mix and crackers to fill up my stomach.

Feeling Classy (Pan Pacific Hotel/ Cafe Pacifica Food Review)

Last year around the same time, I was attending an engineering networking event. This year I got invited back again. Last year I went, I remember feeling like I just lost a war after the event was finished. Not only was I not properly dressed, I was all sweaty and feeling overwhelmed. So this year I wanted to make a change.
This year, I got on a layer of deodorant on and I went shopping beforehand to make sure that I am properly dressed. I think the biggest thing that was different this year that helped with the anxiety was that I told myself I was there for the food, and if I met anyone it's an added bonus.
With that mindset I headed towards the Pan Pacific Hotel. I must say this is a very classy place to host a social networking event. When I arrived, the hotel had a coat check and everything, and once inside the venue, there were servers everywhere with some appetizers. Some of the appetizers include quiche, mini flat bread sandwiches and also tomato and cheese on a skewer.
Banquet Hall
I must say, when it comes to service, these banquet servers are one of the best. Not only are they extremely well dressed, but they are also very polite and knowledgeable about what they are serving. Also, I really admire their abs, alot of the plates that they carry are very heavy and I am not sure how they are able to carry so many!
Basket of Bread that Came
With regards to the taste of the food, besides the fact that it's served hot and it's freshly made, the appetizers tastes somewhat average. We were outside the main dining area when suddenly the lights went out and we were signalled to go  into the dining room to begin our 3 course meal.
Soup
The dining room itself was very well lighted, and all the utensils were all placed ready for us. Once we were seated, a basket of bread and baked goods were sent to each table to share and pass around. I must say there isn't really anything too special with the breads, other than the fact that they appear to be freshly baked.
After the bread was distributed, the soup was next. To be honest, I am not sure what the soup was. It tasted abit like squash but abit like french onion. It was thicker than miso soup but less thick than something like french onion. The soup itself tasted pretty good though.
Once we were finished with the soup, the banquet servers came around and picked up the bowls and some utensils. Not to sound stupid, but I get confused about what utensils to use in these occasions. There are literally 10 utensils in front of me, and ideally for functional purposes I would like to just drink the soup out of the bowl... but to keep it "classy", apparently the bowl should never leave the table.
The next thing that came around was the main dish, and it was chicken breast with some corn and carrots. The carrot was abit on the hard/bland side, but the chicken was amazing. The quality was very good and very tender.

While we were having the main dish, the servers came around and asked us if we would like some wine. They had two bottles of wine that were high quality. One was the white wine while the other was some sort of red wine. I had the red wine.
I am not sure if it's a custom to not pour the wine in all the way to the top of the glass, but the server poured me only half a cup. I guess I understood why when I took the first sip. The thing was so strong it reminded me of Listerine mouthwash, except the wine had a slightly sweet side to it.
When everyone was done with the main dish, the dessert came next. At this time, a bunch of the utensils were all collected, so now there were only the spoon for the dessert left. Finally I figured out which out of the dozens of spoons which one is the right one for the dessert. The cake itself was very good, the chocolate was very wholesome tasting. Rather than tasting the flour in the cake in a traditional cake, this one tasted more like chocolate than cake.
Overall, I would say this social networking event went pretty well, I did meet a few new friends and also had some good food. Overall, I would recommend coming to Pan Pacific Hotel if you are planning to host an event. The price per person was around $30 but there were around 200 people there. In addition, it was subsidized by the IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers) who was the sponsor. The food and quality was good as well.
